What started as a fun bonding activity between mother and daughter quickly turned into a creative bracelet business. With just beads, elastic, and a spark of inspiration, this young entrepreneur began designing and selling unique styles she loved to wear. Now, she’s sharing her passion at local events, proving that sometimes the best businesses begin with simply trying something new.
CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
A: I love making and wearing bracelets, one day I realized I can make them and it became something my mom and I enjoy doing together and so now I am able to do these events too.
CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get ahold of them?
A: Initially I just needed the beads and elastic. My mom got those for fun, then I played around with them for a bit trying different styles. The more I started making and selling, I was able to use that money to go get more and try out more unique styles. It was a lot of fun!
CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
A: The biggest challenge is social media algorithms and when you try to post something but not many people can see it. The best way to overcome that is being able to do in person shows and get out and about.
CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
A: I would say just go for it. Even if you don’t think its going to work out, just try and if it doesn’t work out at least you had fun doing it.
CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?
A: Just come to the events I am selling at. I currently don’t have a Facebook page for this business yet, but I will be going to as many markets as I can.
