What started as a fun project alongside their mom has grown into a unique resin keychain business full of creativity and personality.

What started as a fun project alongside their mom has grown into a unique resin keychain business full of creativity and personality. Inspired by a love for resin and supported by supplies from Amazon, this young entrepreneur has turned a simple idea into a growing brand. Through the nerves and excitement of market days, they’ve learned to stay calm, stay committed, and keep creating.

CEM: Tell us about your business.  How did you first get the idea?

I first got the idea when I was working with my mom at our original shop.  We were making different keychains and we were adding different things.  And I’ve always been a fan of resin ever since my mom brought it into the house so that’s why we have resin keychains here.

CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going?  How did you get a hold of them?

Amazon.  I needed beads so I could make the keychains, and that’s how it started.  It started out with just basic keychains and pens.  And then I slowly got more, and then with resin and everything else.

CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

Usually in the beginning of it, I would get really nervous that we weren’t going to do good that day and the anxiety would hit, and I’d get overwhelmed. The way I usually calm myself down is I think about the time, and I’d think about how long we have throughout the day before so there’s always a chance of making sales.

CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?

If you’re going to try, you should definitely commit – like not aggressively commit, but commit to a point at which you’re comfortable. You can make sure you get everything you want.

CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?

We have a main business for our family – In the Art Of.  There’s a section for me specifically, with the things that I make.  https://www.intheartof.com/home
